Join Us for a Book Launch Party to Benefit a Domestic Violence Shelter

By Michele Anstead

We are very pleased and excited to announce that the book launch party for my new memoir, Fear is Not An Option, will take place on October 10, 2015 at the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Center in Edmonton.  The event will be a benefit for the Wings of Providence Shelter.  I wanted to schedule the launch event in October because it is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The spirit of this party will be empowerment.  It is time for us all to come together and help support women and children who are facing domestic violence. This will be a celebration of survival, strength and courage. The book party will feature motivational speakers, music by award-winning singer, songwriter, actress and Miss Teen Canada International 2012 Nakita Kohan, who will be joined by Stephen Lecky, of Canadian Idol Top 100 and Canada’s Got Talent. Lecky was named Co-Writer of the Year by the North American Country Music Association.  There will also be a silent auction with some incredible items to choose from.  Starting with Jewelry, gift cards, gift baskets and sports and celebrity memorabilia and much more.  Have your book personally autographed or find out what your future has in store for you with a spiritual reading by Sherdaye.  It’s going to be an experience to remember.

The party is free to attend but we ask that you confirm your attendance by sending us an email at The Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Center is located at 10440 108 Ave NW in Edmonton.  We would like you to bring a non perishable item with you for the food bank to help those in need.  We are also seeking silent auction donations at this time.

I wrote Fear is Not An Option to share my story with other women who may be facing the same seemingly impossible challenges that I overcame.  I grew up experiencing serious abuse.  My life was not exactly a picture book story, not hardly.  Yet, despite all the challenges I faced, I was able to raise my ADHD-affected son as a single mother and transition from being on welfare to completing a college diploma with honors.  Since then, I have completed a Certified Professional Counselor program, which provided me with valuable insight into the healing process and expanded my knowledge on the causes and affects of abuse.  After having several successful careers in Training and Real Estate I now provide guidance and support as an author and Certified Life Coach to women worldwide who are looking for change no matter what adversity they may be facing.  If I can do it, you can do it. Remember “Everything is Possible” and “Fear Is Not An Option” … join us at the book party and learn what it’s all about.
